Here at STI, designers have just reached our deadline for December Showtime in Highpoint, NC. Through all of the rushed patterns, the sorting of fabrics, and the last push of color work, we have finally reached the time we can all take a collective deep breath and exhale. The upcoming line of Revolution Performance Fabrics promises to be the biggest to date with a diverse range of styles for every taste. Thankfully for you—the consumer—there is no deadline for settling into your new sofa covered in luxurious, worry-free Revolution Fabric. Just wait….there’s so much more to come!
A twist on an organic design. Is it an olive branch or a twig? This cool new design has a retro flavor to it. It’s organic… a non-floral floral. I love the texture which comes from the boucle and weave. Bring the outdoors in… great for a pillow, chair or ottoman!
We are not talking about the Carolina Panthers this time....
Creating Revolution Performance Fabrics® is truly a team effort. Never in my career have I worked with a better group of colleagues than here at STI. Each one of these people exhibit true selflessness, working for the greater good of our company and our brand. We certainly take pride in our work which I truly believe shows in the final products we produce. We are co-workers, we are friends, and we all continue to work diligently to bring you the best.
I wish my favorite team would perform as well as Revolution Performance Fabrics®.
A few weeks ago my father celebrated being 10 years cancer free from non-hodgkin lymphoma! This particular cancer was determined by his doctor to be from exposure to environmental factors.
I am so excited that our Revolution Performance Fabrics® are not chemically treated with stain repellants. Stain resistance is an inherent quality of the yarn, therefore your family is not exposed to any added chemicals (like other performance brands).
It's an election year. Time to think about what qualities I like in a candidate. The more I think about it I realize I'd like a candidate that has the same strengths as Revolution. Revolution Performance Fabrics® are durable, strong and survive anything you throw at them.
Rock the vote y'all! Until next time...
Meet Revolution pattern Chic.. a swirl pattern in bright retro colors as well as a full range of neutrals. And the coordinating Revolution pattern Flirtation is an undulating dot available in a rainbow of matching colors.
Pattern Idlewood (wait...doesn't this pattern look familiar) takes me back to childhood summers, strolling through fields of wildflowers, and picking a bouquet of daisies for my mother. This retro pattern is a throwback to days gone by with a refreshing twist of color based on today’s trends. Best of all, it’s Revolution, so it can be enjoyed for many years to come.
We create a lot of our artwork for fabric designs in house, but we also purchase a lot from outside studios. It is so positive to work with outside studios for many reasons:
- To get complicated artwork that could take a lot of time to produce in house
- To see others thoughts trend wise in pattern and color
- To build a collection of fabrics more quickly
- To fill holes in your line or special customer requests
The different studios have different strengths. They vary in their focus including: traditional, contemporary, conversational, bohemian, transitional… the list goes on. We all have our personal favorites. It really gets your creative juices going to shop for artwork… all that pattern and color!!!!
On a personal note, I’ve been told often “you’re a good looker”. Don’t worry I’m not bragging about my appearance, but my ability to look quickly and know what I like a need from a collection!!
So we all are looking forward to our next visit from an art studio!
Like the rise and fall of a river’s edge, the imagery in our new Revolution fabric was inspired by the closing of a late summer rain. Residual water gently carves a temporary path across the landscape, only to disappear as the remnants of dusk give way to darkness. Torrent captures a moment in time. The calm after the storm.
The evolution of an idea into a Revolution fabric.
“Vouila” pattern Loop de Loop is born!
Like all things even a loop de loop has a beginning and an end.
We started by looking at images of rollercoasters and thought how could we use this exciting imagery as the inspiration for a performance fabric.
Photographs of the coasters lead to the graphic design of the image for fabric and then the necessary parameters for the construction were fed into the computer to create a new Revolution performance jacquard.
